  1. The only advantage people talk about is "... boiling water quickly..."? Nope. Worst thing about the US power system is it makes the space heaters so wimpy. But if you have a home workshop, you've got a lot more options for higher end tools without needing special wiring. You can run more LEDs at lower current if you have higher voltage, so you can make equally bright lights which run many times longer.
