  1. I worked for a swimming pool maintenance company when i was younger.. We used to measure for loop lock or merlin safety covers (anchored winter covers that you can walk across) and we used an A B measurement process. We'd set 2 points either 10 or 20 feet apart (depending on the size of the pool) and make a shitload of marks around the pool and measure from A then B the distance to each mark on the pool perimeter (or waterfall or rock formation or ladders and stuff). Same idea as this, but a little less sophisticated. : )
