  2. It sounds like Judge needed killers and monsters around him to feel normal. The moment they stopped, he felt out of place and abnormal. He may sound sure of himself and confident in his actions, but maybe guilt was getting to him. The way he speaks to the kid in the jail cell sounds almost like he's saying he betrayed him when he stopped being a murderous monster. He sounds like he has an anti-social behavior disorder or something. He tolerated the gang because they were monsters like him. The moment they stopped, the gang became the dull weak masses that the Judge hates so much. That's what it seems like anyway.
