  1. I was worried about this. Just like the Winter War with the Finns, Russia eventually gets its problems worked out and finishes the job. This will probably end with Ukraine giving up Donetsk and Luhansk (and Crimea). However, Ukraine will firmly be placed in the category of "Eastern European Countries Who Hate Russia" for many years now.

  2.  @Getfreurr  Yeah, it's possible. Ukraine is such a crucial piece of land, I wouldn't put it past the Russians to sacrifice the political capital to take the whole thing.
