Russia is one of those countries where I feel we shouldn't be enemies. There just isn't a fundamental reason. We could easily be friendly if we both chill out. Same with Iran, the problem with Iran is the crazy government. The people have no issues with Americans.

@MidwestDIY It's sadly similar here in the US. Even I supported hatred towards the Soviets, even though I'm too young to even know who the Soviets were. But I realized it's silly to view others like that, because they're people like me just trying to survive life. Sadly, having a collective enemy might be needed for a people to be united, but there are plenty of valid enemies. I just think the US and Russia shouldn't be enemies. We share an enemy in ISIS. We both disagree with ISIS on a fundamental level. They are a true enemy.

@shipovnik89 True. I certainly wouldn't trust the US government. But I have a feeling Iranian people would be more welcoming to American people, rather than their government and vice versa.

@eugenemaksimov hahaha I understand. Our media and news doesn't give an accurate picture of our people though. The media likes to focus on the strange, and unnatural because it attracts viewers. Our country has a lot of problems, but I think you'd find our people more normal than what you'd see on our news and media.

@eugenemaksimov Yeah, our politics are bad and we're divided. I think there will be major changes in the US soon, but I do believe things will get worse before they get better. A lot of Americans aren't satisfied with our government and don't trust our institutions. I believe our Congress only has an 8% approval rate lol. We have a lot of corruption in our government, I think.

@JamesSmith-ix5jd I know it's unlikely, and you can't always avoid having enemies. But the relationship between America and Russia always seemed liked a large misunderstanding to me. Only the elites benefit.
