  1. My grandpa's brother, and my grandpa's next door neighbor both fought on Iwo Jima. I only met the neighbor when I was young. But even at that age I could tell something was wrong. He drank a ton of alcohol. And he loved to party. I remember him climbing up on my grandparent's roof to clear off branches after a hurricane and thinking, "Old men don't do stuff like this". He was a bit of a wild man.
