It seems like US politicians admire China for their authoritarianism. The US desperately wants to control its citizens and it looks to China as inspiration. Companies and Hollywood tend to bend over for the CCP because China's large market. The US in general loves money more than their own country and it has had a negative affect over the years. I also think people have become fat, lazy, and addicted to stability and security. The concept and practice of liberty is scary, dangerous, and takes hard work to defend. It's sad, but I think that is what's happening. At least in the US.
