My home is 4 miles away from where Milton hit. Everyone I know has experienced some sort of crazy story and/or damage. We helped each other. Many people come from surrounding states to help us. Florida state government helped as well. I've known one person that stayed in a FEMA camp for 8 months after they lost their home, but that was years ago. Other than that, I never see FEMA around helping us. My neighbors and family help me. FEMA thinks it can hold this support over our head 😂 My community always helps me. They aren't FEMA. They won't abandon me for my political beliefs.
