@alexpotts6520 Because that is how democracy works. Alex doesn't get a veto. I never voted for Blair. When they put up National insurance contributions I had to pay it. You either accept the concept of losers consent. Or move to a non democracy and never teach your children how to play board games or anything.

@biocapsule7311 The EU is obliged to listen to all trade requests? Did not know that. I've learnt something today (always a plus). Otherwise all your points apply to the EU too. I'd be comfortable with no deal. The best outcome for both sides is a "Canada style deal" as Barnier and Tusk were suggesting 2 years ago. Trade is a net positive. Not a zero sum game. But fine if either side have changed their minds. For political rather than economic reasons. As is permissible for people to vote on non economic grounds. If anyone truthfully thinks if either side have said "No need to negotiate. It's not deal." 12 or 36 months ago, there still wouldn't have been December 2020 negotiations. Then I have some magic beans to sell them.
