  1. This happens in every industry including politics. Everything gets started by people with motivations and what they build is inherited by people who don't have those motivations. All that's left is money seeking. And the same goes for consumers. When something new starts people are exploring, after that standards are formed and they dismiss anything different while complaining everything is similar.
