  1. It's pretty clear why the Testimonium Flavianum is considered to be inauthentic, but is there a reason it is assumed to have an authentic core at all? If someone such as Eusebius wanted to put words in Josephus's mouth praising Jesus, why couldn't he have created the entire quote out of whole cloth?

  2.  @alangervasis  That's interesting. I wonder if that's because the Arabic is taken from an earlier version or if it's because the Arabic version modified the claim so it didn't sound explicitly Christian.
