@ndr_32 I don't think the problem is that people don't know how to look for info (google is very powerful now) or that they don't have any interest. Rather, it's usually that they are never even confronted with the question. In a way, it doesn't help you in any practical way to know what causes the seasons, so most people just never learn. But if you ask them, and they have a phone handy, they will easily be able to find the answer. And the answer is convincing and easy to understand, so (unless they are a flat-Earther or something) they will get it and accept it. So it's a lack of curiosity more than anything else.

Most people never even get to the point of looking most of these questions up. They knew the answer when they were ten years old and in elementary school, but they forgot. Most people don't even know whether the new moon is up in the day or the full moon. Literally all you have to do is look UP, but there's a decent chance you just had to look it up to check and make sure, yourself. There is so much stuff to know these days that you have to prioritize, and most people sadly do not prioritize even grade school science, let alone looking at the sky from time to time.
