@oxjmanxo It's a combination of things. It's true that reporters in Florida can get more information about crimes more easily than in other states. It's also true that Florida has a large, diverse population and something of a crime problem. It's true that many people view Florida as a strange place inherently, because they only go there on vacation, or they only know people that do. It's the only state with alligators and crocodiles (and there are a lot of stories about alligators), and many other strange animals. It has lots of retirement communities and lots of gang activity at the same time. It's shaped like a flaccid penis. There are just lots of funny and unique things about Florida that beg for it to be the center of attention and a lot of stereotypes, some of which are broadly true. So when you add in the freedom of information, it's inevitable.
