  1. I actually think Floridians are better off if Disney loses its special tax status in the state. I think Americans as a whole are better off, too. This issue is very old and I've been saying it for ages, there is no reason why tourist spots should get such extremely preferential treatment, which we see going all the way down to museums and kitsch shops and all the way up to Disney Land. But nothing is like Disney World, which owns its own town, including its own residents, in some sort of modern feudal joke. Now, I don't want DeSantis to win anything, especially not if it that improves his political position. But my mind hasn't changed. Screw Disney, and even if I loved Disney as a model corporation, screw that arrangement anyway. I get that DeSantis only cares now because he thinks it's "too woke" and it has nothing to do with my opinions, but so? I still agree, screw Disney, and I hope it loses. I just hope DeSantis loses, too.
