@blahorgaslisk7763 I was always confused by the idea too. Forks don't fit in outlets. Why do people always talk about sticking a fork in the outlet instead of a knife or paperclip or something else that actually fits?

@blahorgaslisk7763 Maybe they carried it over from the idea of sticking a fork in a toaster, which is actually doable, which people actually do from time to time (e.g. to try to pry something off stuck to the bottom), and which actually is more dangerous than a knife in that circumstance.
