@PrivateEyeYiYi "So what?" The US government is involved in funding research and development every step of the way. The US government does preliminary research and development. The US government funds research and development in the public and private schools. The US government also funds the companies' private research and development. The US government licenses the vaccines to the companies through exclusive patents driving out competition and keeping the prices high for maximum profitability for the company. In the case of COVID, the US government pays for all those "free" doses it is distributing in the US and world-wide for the foreseeable near future.
