  17. A quick check of some statistics looks like a majority of them were from IED and roadside bombs, not actual combat. It is difficult to parse the data since those included PMCs (Private Military Contractors AKA mercenaries). The Afghan police had twice the number of the Afghan Army and the civilian deaths were over t0 time that.

What they do get is those 10,000 American contractors were there supporting and invasion of a foreign country for Military and Intelligence Agencies that never came up with a plan or contingencies to evacuate them even though they were given over half a year to come up with and execute those plans. Now you have to consider, was it complete ineptitude on the Military and Intelligence Agencies' part or by design?

  74. Most of the casualties were Afghan police. It is difficult to get number for the actual Afghan army since it is mixed in with PMC (Private Military Contractors). The majority of the deaths for the Afghan army were from IEDs and roadside bombs, not from actual fighting. The rate for the Afghan Army appears to be roughly the same as the US forces. Afghan civilians were the greatest number of casualties by at least a factor of 10.

The Pentagon and Intelligence Agencies had over six months to prepare a plan for the worst-case scenario, not to mention the 20 years prior and they did not do it. You do not pan for the best-case scenario in a war or withdraw, so their execution of this suggests total incompetence or intentional maliciousness. Credit where credit is due. There is more than enough to go around.

I don't often respond to off-topic posts but, even though I haven't worked for minimum wage in years, my salary and raises have stagnated (across multiple companies) exactly at the same time minimum wage stopped increasing, even though the cost of living has gone up. Also, what is being pushed is not single-payer health care. It is not government run hospitals, it is single-payer health insurance, like Medicare which, even though it could be better, most of those people on it now think it is the best system they have been on and it does not stop anyone from buying supplemental health insurance if you choose to, the same as medicare currently operates. While I do not trust the government either, I do not trust the Wall Street vulture speculator death-panels even more.
