The Pentagon had six months to prepare for this and and 20 years to think about this and didn't. You might think they never intended to have one. 500 US service members lost their lives in Afghanistan from 2013 to 2016. 60 more from 2017-2020 those service members had families too. I am sure the families of the 2000-3000 Afghan civilian casualties every year since the start of the war think about their families as well. PS: Biden does deserve the blame since he was actively involved in starting the war in the first place. The Pentagon deserves blame as well.

@acgeo7502 Correction: The Pentagon and Intelligence Agencies did not have a plan and never intended to have one. They do not care about US servicemen as anything more that an expendable resource. Credit where credit is due.
