  1. Bakmut serves three other purposes. 1. Attrit Ukraine combat power. 2. Give time for Russia to receive more armor, ammo, manpower. 3. Give Russia time to build more defenses in depth so that if they pull back the next battle is more of the same for the Ukrainians.
