@IMSiegfried Maybe have a memory longer than your average fish, eh Glowie? : The Washington Post reported in December 2022, (Ukrainian Commander) "Kovalchuk considered flooding the river. The Ukrainians, he said, even conducted a test strike with a HIMARS launcher on one of the floodgates at the Nova Kakhovka dam, making three holes in the metal to see if the Dnieper’s water could be raised enough to stymie Russian crossings but not flood nearby villages. The test was a success, Kovalchuk said, but the step remained a last resort."

@mycatspethooman5590 It sure seems to have been planned...by Ukraine: "(Ukrainian Commander) Kovalchuk considered flooding the river," the Washington Post reported.

@Vuosta "When they are hopefully gonna kick the Russians out of Ukraine." I don't think the Ukraine commanders rely on "hope" for their tactical decisions. Ask Ukrainian Major-General Andriy Trokhymovych Kovalchuk why the Ukrainians decided destroyed the dam.
1
@sylviahutchison5203 Then why was Ukrainian Major-General Andriy Trokhymovych Kovalchuk planning and testing destroying the dam? Why did he say the test was successful?
