Adam Schiff was a ranking member and Chair of the House Intelligence Committee for 8 years which oversees CIA NSA, etc. "During the primary, Schiff spent $10 million elevating Republican Steve Garvey in order to squeeze Katy Porter and Barbara Lee out of second place, as Californian primary process advances the two most preferred candidates, regardless of party, to the general election." Schiff almost lost the election in 2024 to Republican Steve Garvey. Schiff won by only 5,000 votes.
