Yeah yeah nah, biological processes are always very inefficient as they also need to maintain their own structure and functions. e.g. Plants can't even reach 5% efficiency for sunlight conversion, yet a plant can maintain itself for thousands of years, and theoretically indefinitely in a stable environment. There are always trade-offs.

@Whoisthis1111 You can't get around the laws of thermodynamics as they apply to complex biological systems, they are not evolved to just be efficient, and that is the point. This enzyme based approach is "interesting" but we can already utilise the energy stored in H2 using fuel cells and gas turbines etc., both of which are far more efficient, but the production of the H2 is not particularly efficient and it is hard to store too.

@Whoisthis1111 Organic chemistry only works within a limited temperature range and most of the higher efficiency processes are higher temperature. The laws of thermodynamics really are much more important a limit than you seem to understand.
