  1. A lot of them are the sort who don't have family, and there will be even more of those in the future. Families that have a more traditional structure are less likely to need to rely on aged care facilities.

  2. The cranky old farts in aged care homes are some of the most racist of all Australians and they mistreat workers who are not "white". They are not all like that but the ones who are make life awful for their victims and there is no way to correct their behaviour particularly if it is associated with the sorts of behavioural disinhibition associated with dementia. So good luck with that "importing workers from overseas" idea, or do you mean women from Ukraine?
