  1. What this means is that all of those people are now at a significantly increased risk of identity fraud potentially leading to financial fraud. What isn't clear is how far back the compromised records go and what Optus is going to do to warn people of their increased exposure to cyber crime. Also keep in mind that other companies are resellers of Optus services and the amount of shared data between them is not publicly known.
