  1. Apparently they had no data flow rate limiting mechanisms in place and safety tripwires should it be exceeded. It doesn't look like they were using multifactor authentication either. Time for another class action by the customers affected, because nothing else will cost such companies enough for them to care enough about protecting data according to world's best practice.
