They have already got busted telling lies about the app, they have not got source code available for public audit, on Android it does ask for access to GPS and other location services, and lastly the laws they claimed will protect people's privacy don't even exist yet.

@fzconsulting6926 I wonder how they will handle "Influenza and pneumonia (J09–J18)" in sheet "Table S5.2" for the next release of data, shove COVID-19 in with it or give it a separate code so that it is possible to do a comparison. The cynic in me says that they will lump them together to hide the truth.

@tin2001 They can see the data as they have the keys, but it is against the law to take a peek at it without the person's permission, except that law does not exist yet. What more do you need to know. Also what is to stop you putting another person's details into the app running on a emulator with a spoofed Bluetooth connection? They only randomise the ID code every 2 hours but the BT radio has a fixed MAC ID code so you can join the IDs into a chain. There are so many ways you could mess with that app or harvest some level of data. BT range is potentially up to 100 meters if you are just snooping all of the traffic.
