Just because he is a shrink it does not mean he is a good person and his opinions are correct or objective, so evaluate his claims very carefully, be as sceptical of him as he probably is of you. As recently as the 1980s clinical psychologists in the UK and USA were locking up men who smoked pot and giving them the false diagnosis of cannabis psychosis so that they could then inject them with powerful antipsychotics that were known to cause a form of permanent brain damage called tardive dyskinesia. That is how wrong, and downright evil, his profession can be, even in recent times.
