  2. If you think that just a good password will protect your web connected camera you are a fool. Most of the real security holes in such devices cannot be fixed and involve multistage attacks that exploit out of date firmware on the camera. Only completely open sourced systems that just have a VPN type network connection are secure and private, but even then only as good as the VPN, if that is compromised it is game over. No service provider outside of Australia can be trusted 100%, not a single one of them, and even local companies are not likely to be entirely without some form of compromise in how they do things, even if it is as simple as using overseas staff for customer service after hours. Each of these compromises opens up an exploit pathway.
