  2. The problem is the scale and duration of the disruption, the system is clearly not resilient enough, or responsive enough to supply/demand shifts. Batteries would not have helped as they hold only 15 min of supply but they could have been part of a solution that allowed gas powered fuel cells to come online to extend the coverage until normal generation resumed.
