Comments by "" (@DanielSMatthews) on "'Xi Jinping's little gag': China's new aircraft carrier named after Fujian province" video.
Aircraft carriers are about as out of date and battle tanks are, and you can ask the Russians how useless an idea from last century is when fighting an asymmetrical 21st century war.

A 100 second burst from a rail gun +200 km away and that boat is a fish hotel.

@tranbachuyen6655 Like the Raytheon mobile 50kW-class laser for U.S. Army? It is already a "thing".

@outlawbillionairez9780 99% of humanity's problems are caused by the 1% who are born psychopaths.

@courtingblues3740 You are thinking of the largest of their railgun experiments, not the sort that could be land based and defend Taiwan using the shorter 200 km range. The barrel liner can last longer than you think and be changed in an automated manner too. Taking out a CCP ship in the sea between the island and the mainland with a 100 s burst of about 2 dozen rounds is entirely feasible. And that is before the Orbitron Fusion reactor is developed, once that level of portable power is available you can expect airborne railguns too.

Rogue Squadron There are still a few rocket launchers circulating on the black market in Australia, I don't think the Army got all of the gear they lost back. But good luck with that, now you are on a list somewhere, ...probably...

@sleepyjoe4529 So they can pick on small nations who don't have railguns or hypersonic missiles.

@outlawbillionairez9780 They actually have detectable brain differences, so we could prevent them from reaching positions of power if detected early enough. fMRI scans show the connections and activity of areas feeding into the frontal lobes are abnormal.

@petermclaren2665 Gosh I guess we will have to call off the invasion of mainland China then, can't have the factory all exploded can we... <rolls eyes>

@courtingblues3740 If you say so. ;-) What a nasty surprise for those who find out the hard way that isn't the case.

Rogue Squadron These days the bazooka loiters in the air until you come along then it flies up your ass before firing, all without human intervention.

@nobbynobbs8182 No they haven't and yes they are obsolete on a conceptual level as new technologies are able to neutralize them at a very low relative cost.

@Dou_Y Why would I take advice from a child who has yet to even learn punctuation?
