There are more Short Term Rental properties in Australia, sitting vacant most of the time, than there are homeless people.

@Aaronwhatnow Sheesh you are such a useless boofhead. The point is that those properties exist in greater numbers than the people who need anywhere to stay. The government could incentivise putting those properties back onto the long term accommodation market via positive and or negative incentives. Had that not occurred to you at all?

@Not Convinced That may help some, if it was practical for them to do so, but many also need to access services that are not in the regions so the government would need to sort that out too.

@Aaronwhatnow I indicated none of that, what you wrote was what came into your mind due to your incompetence, because you have no more sophisticated an appreciation of what "positive and or negative incentives" could mean. Also go and look up what the Greek/Latin root of "Govern" is.

@Not Convinced True, and those who are retired or disabled should be encouraged, assisted, to relocate to such wonderful towns so that the city houses can be made available to workers who need to be their for employment, until there is more regional opportunities.
