Our economy is decades away from being able to contemplate safe and affordable decarbonisation because fission nuclear power is not supported by some political parties and the safer and more compact aneutronic fusion reactors are only at prototype stage meaning that even if they have a commercial product by 2025-2030 it would still take until 2040-2050 to build enough of them to cover the needs that the nation will have at that point in time, and still have enough capacity left over for contingencies.
