I was a big supporter of volunteerism until covid happened and we saw what contempt the government had for our human rights, now I am more inclined to subscribe to phukdatism.

@positivepawpaw7564 Looking out for your community, yeah, or you can volunteer overseas in the third world as I did, a couple of thousand hours all self funded and with a certain level of personal risk involved too. Was interesting, had to do a lot of things you'd never see here in Aus, I even built a hand pump to degas a patient's guts once, on the spot I was just told what the doctor needed and shown what materials I had to work with. They had to fly him back to civilisation and were worried he might burst his bowl into his thorax when the aircraft was at high altitude, it all worked out OK in the end, unlike some of the other things I saw.

@GLEN1061 Yeah sure your obligations are like nested circles, you take care of what is close to you first then if you have reserves you can help further afield.
