The intrinsic value of each bill aside, it should be carefully noted that these priorities of the Labor government will be nothing but yet another burden on an already stressed nation and will do nothing to improve GDP or reduce debt. The climate bill will have no material benefit at all and aged care will only serve to make the deaths of the nations least productive people a little less unpleasant, it will not stop them from passing away. However, even that is complicated by the fact that we need to consider quality of life and acknowledge that artificially extending a person's life without it being of a good quality is in fact a cruel and inhumane thing to do.
