It is really, land clearing to produce food that has reduced habitat and there is no way to avoid that unless you want to export less food to asia where most of the food grown in Australia is actually consumed.

Your unfounded arrogance is disappointing. The nasty truth is that it comes down to food production and you have to decide between humans and animal habitat preservation and restoration. So that means less humans, in Asia where most of the food produced in Australia goes, and that makes it look like a racist decision if you favour the animals over humans. There are multiple conflicting ethical obligations at play and if your understanding is not that nuanced your commentary just serves as an act of inadvertent self humiliation.

@Aaronwhatnow Nope it always comes down to land use, if Australia was depopulated the ecosystem dynamics would be sufficiently adaptive to moderate species extinctions to the level they have been on average for millions of years. The climate has always changed and gondwana has seen profound shifts over time. The single greatest change was around the time that humans first entered the continent.
