I'm sorry. But there is nothing wrong with being attracted to a certain race and not others. Haha. That is not racism. That is human. Races exist. If I want to date a white girl and not a black girl that doesn't make me racist. If I want to date a black girl and not a white girl that doesn't make me racist. I shouldn't feel bad if I want to date a blonde girl and not a red head. It's completely subjective. If I want to date a white girl solely because I think black girls are inferior, that's racism. You should date someone for who they are, regardless of skin color. With skin color also comes cultural differences. If I have nothing in common w a certain culture, I'm probably less likely to date a person from that culture. People with similarities gravitate towards each other. Always. That doesn't always equal racism. It's how you view and treat people that matters.

FYI. Systematic is not the same as systemic. Two completely different words.

@Anthony-op7xz Systematic means you have a plan to do something and an organized way of doing it. You take steps to get something done. Systemic means it's part of a system or a greater whole. Systematic racism doesn't make any sense. Systemic racism means that racism exists in an entire system of something.

@wheatandtares9764 Well of course it's not written in law. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. But it depends on who you ask. Haha. People claim racism is systemic in policing, and apparently most other institutions now. I don't really buy into it. I'm just saying the difference in the words systemic and systematic. If you hear anyone say systematic racism they clearly don't know what they're talking about. They're using the wrong phrase. I don't believe in systemic racism though.

@A. K I don't think it makes them less hot. I just think it might be harder to get along and feel totally compatible. It's like if I moved to japan there would be so many things that I'm not used to. That's just culture, not racism. People get used to how they do things and feel comfortable around similar people. I would have a hard time dating someone in Japan mostly because I don't speak Japanese. Haha.

@hoodpriestessphilosophy7669 Exactly. I totally agree. It's not personal. Everyone is attracted to different things. That is not racism. Racism comes into play when you treat someone poorly because of their race. Racism is not giving someone the same respect because of their race, thinking something is wrong with them, or looking down on someone. You're right. Everyone has a type. Small, tall, dark, light, bubbly, quiet, active, artistic. So much goes into attraction. A lot of it is personality too.

@nedza2010 that's not really what I'm saying. I'm saying if there's a girl who happens to be a certain race, and I'm not attracted to her, that does not make me racist against that particular race. If it's the whole race then yeah, I might need to check myself. But if there's a girl who happens to be black and I'm not attracted to her, I'm not going to feel bad bad about that. And I agree, culture is great. If you want to date someone from a different culture, cool. If I don't feel as comfortable around someone I'm not as used to, I shouldn't feel bad about that either. Like if I don't speak your language the chances I date you are pretty slim, only because I literally can't communicate with you. For me, I'm really attracted to darker skin. I love other cultures. I dated a Filipino girl and now I'm dating a Mexican. I like it. Does that make me racist because I'm not as attracted to caucasians. No. I like darker skin. And dark hair. Personal preference. It's not racist.

@kaylee a I think there are attractive people in every ethnicity. There are probably unattractive people in every ethnicity. I could find some people attractive and others unattractive regardless of race. That's just the reality of it. That's why I'm saying it's not racist. Here's an example of what I think would count as racism: I find a black girl really attractive, but I decide not to talk to her or date her because she's black, as if there's something inherently wrong with that fact. That's super racist. I'm sure I could find an attraction to someone of any race, and if we get along and I like their character I would have no problem dating them. But having different values and backgrounds does make a difference. Sometimes just beliefs can have a big impact on compatibility. It all comes into play. I would never exclude someone simply because they're one race or another though.

@attractivesoul1 I'm just saying there's a difference between systemic and systematic. And I think some people don't know that. You could also say the jews were systematically exterminated by the Nazis. People can definitely be systematically racist but when talking about a group or organization it's most likely systemic that people mean. Systemic will most likely be the correct term.

@saharaasher8959 You have to admit that so many things have changed over time though. You can't possibly think the system in place today equals what it was when it began. Even if it did start out as something, so much is different now. Blacks may not have been considered a full person then, but they are now. There are plenty of blacks with a great education who get payed just as much as whites and in many cases more. I could say because I'm white I came from racist slave owners and therefore I have racist tendencies. That's completely not true though. I'm my own person who can do what I want with my life. You are too. It's possible to change and I believe many good changes have already happened. You have to recognize a lot of good that's already happened.
