  2. Guns aren't banned in the UK. They are CONTROLLED. Anyone can apply for a Shotgun for hunting/birding purposes, particularly on large country estates and moorland where licensed hunting is permitted. The decision to grant a person a license however, is subject to far more checks and balances than in the US and the storage and access to guns is more stringent.
