  1. The Royal family don't represent the "people of Great Britain" (and the Commonwealth) in any format whatsoever, certainly not politically. Firstly, the Monarch is expected to be Apolitical, and cannot propose laws or changes to existing legislature. She CAN grant Royal Assent to legislature proposed by existing Governments and has the power (Divine right) to request audiences with the existing PM but that , basically, is all.
