@TheArmourersBench The Third World War, a book by General Sir John Hackett (well worth a read if you can find it), painted a picture of the British/Germans working more or less in tandem in and around German towns and villages using "sponge" tactics and weapons.

@shaunmichaelchase To be fair, it's understandable although I can't take "Battle of The Bulge" seriously an any level tbh. It was shot in Spain, which is why the countryside looks nothing like it should do. It's a typical Hollywood film of the period. Crass, inaccurate and and made for an American audience.
