  1. It just seems so fiddly. Like everything works on a brand new car, but I just assume that over time things will shift position and wear down and features will be failing left and right because they are no longer doing exactly what they need to do at exactly the right time.

  2. @sinside318 I have hear a lot more "creakiness" issues about them. With this one it seems to take the fiddliness to the next level though, more fly-by-wire elements, more "trust me bro" mechanical linkages, like the windows apparently need to retract and then return every time the doors open! I can't imagine that there won't be at least some trucks within 5 years where some part of that fails and either the door jams up or the window shatters against the frame when it opens.

  4. AI can definitely replace you. Not yet, of course, but within your lifetime. How? First by copying you. You and other online influencers. It will create a Vtuber that uses an Unreal 5 avatar that looks photorealistic, acting out videos that are very similar to yours. If the video does well, they make more. If it does poorly, they combine it with traits from a different creator and try that, adding and removing traits to see what works best, until they get something that takes off. humans will be unable to compete.

  6. Instead of inductive charging, why can't they build some sort of magnetized cable charger? Like you pull over a port and a cable rises up, magnetically links in, charges it, and then ejects and retracts? That would be more mechanically complex, but could still be pretty automated, and should be much more electrically efficient.

  7. I mean, here's the thing, I want a metaverse, I want to do ll the things Facebook wants me to do with it. I just do not trust Facebook with this space. It's like Disneyland, I like Disneyland, I would want to go to Disneyland, but not if it was run by an adjacent meat slaughtering plant, and they also produced "Soylent Green." I want to play in that metaverse future, but not if Facebook is running it. Not if they can read my data, use my data to serve ads to me, etc. I don't want them in my head like that (some with Apple, btw). I want to get a Quest VR, but never will so long as it's tied in to a mandatory "meta" account. I want to just use it on Steam or something. If I had hardware with no financial ties to Facebook, then I might use a Facebook VR chatroom or something in it, assuming it was designed well, I just don't trust them with the "whole package" infrastructure. Nobody does.

  9. One trick with "shared experiences" would be syncing people across a distance. Like watching a movie together would be tricky if you didn't have the movies at the same place. There should be a feature to sync video files by like overlaying a countdown and when it hits zero both players hit a button to signal that they saw it, and then it slows down one of them so that the other can catch up.
