  2.  @alsatful  But some of those things are not actually crimes, and the "gun charges" they were only able to move forward on because he was willing to offer a guilty plea in exchange for a reduction elsewhere. They did not actually have evidence enough to make a good case on their own.

  12.  @alsatful  He signed a form saying that he wasn't a drug user at that time, which may have been true. It did not say that he had never done drugs, if it did, almost nobody could get a gun. Also apparently it was Hallie that ditched the weapon, not him. Hardly the first time a gun has been misplaced. Or the millionth.

  13.  @alsatful  Oh man, if "someone else misused my gun" was a criminal offense under US law, that would be a massive game changer! Let's hope that's the verdict! The fun thing about this whole case is that nothing can stick to Hunter without making gun control advocates VERY happy.

  14.  @alsatful  Again, if leaving guns unattended were a crime, there would be millions more gun owners currently in jail. As for Hunter's "easy way out," it's important to remember that if he wasn't the target of political enemies, he never would have been charged for this if not for some other crime being involved.

  17.  @alsatful  I am saying that if ALL gun crimes were prosecuted to the level that Hunter Biden's case has been, then that would be great, but they aren't, and it would be disingenuous to claim that they are. Like I said, if every person who had done what Hunter has been accused of received the default penalty for doing so, there would be millions of additional Americans in jail right now, the kind that say that they are "law abiding gun owners" on social media.

I am unable to bring myself to pretend that you do not understand the political nature of this investigation.
