  9.  @bencolwell2260  During four of those years, he was the sitting US president, which presented a lot of complications. After that, as you say, these cases tend to take a while to play out, and part of that is Trump himself delaying things as best his team could manage. This could have all happened a year or two ago if Trump had wanted it to move faster. You can't delay and then complain that it's happening later than it could have. And yes, I do deserve what Democrat politicians are going to do to me, we all do, it will be great.

  14.  @king_tut.  Because such bills need to start in the House, and then the Senate can move it forward. The Senate can't act until the House does, and even if they did, it wouldn't matter because the House would still need to sign off on it, which means getting Kevin on board eventually.

  18.  @ComplicatedBot  There are too many people coming to our borders for our current systems to process, that is a fact, and we need to be doing more to support them at the federal level, rather than leaving them up to cities to care for. Part of the problem there, which those city's mayors have addressed, is that while they are being processed, they are not allowed to work legally, and changing that could solve the problems. We also need ot be massively increasing the number of border judges we have, so that people aren't stuck in limbo for years. But the point is, that is NOT an "open border," people are still being caught, processed, and then either deported, or allowed to apply for asylum, same as in any previous administration. Things are just a lot rougher south of the border than they used to be, so there are a lot more people willing to risk life and limb to get here.

This is about paying the debts we've already accumulated. Whatever issues you might have with government spending, that is a separate problem for a different time.

  28.  @robinperronjones5024  No, again, it is impossible to "cut spending" our way out of this. We can discuss cutting some spending, but not as a part of the debt ceiling negotiations. Stop trying to act as if the two topics are related. It makes no sense to do so. Also, I don't think you understand how the federal budget gets allocated. There is some mismanagement and inefficiencies, but less so than in corporations. No system is perfect, this is just better than the alternatives. MOST of the money spent goes towards vital purposes.

  29. This war started because Russia chose to invade. That is the beginning and end of that story. There is no reason for anyone outside of Russia to be talking about "what could have been done to prevent the war." because the only ones who had any chance of preventing it were in Russia.
