As an outsider, I can only hope that the Labour party can get their shit together, ditch Corbyn, and get a leader that can lead the people. Britain can't survive as a one-party system.

US to Boris: "Rejoin the EU, and we can talk."

Oh, I suppose that Brexit was responsible for that smell even before Brexit, somehow.

This is more likely than anything to be the tipping point, as it hits the Republicans in the jimmies.

The doink with a lanyard is a local, apparently. Him getting fired from his job was front page news kin the local paper. They have been arresting more and more of these yahoos every day.

While I don't defend a single thing about Trump's position, or certainly not his moves in Syria, it's also preposterous for Macron to have anything to say about it. If he'd wanted to protect Syria, why weren't French troops in Syria to defend those positions? Trump pulling out shouldn't have left the area wide open for attack from a NATO ally, there should have been plenty of other NATO forces in the area to provide cover.

@ADifferentBias I'm saying they should have been there from day one. They shouldn't have needed to "swap out" for US troops, they should have been there on the same day US troops arrived. Why was it the US's responsibility to act as a buffer, when the problem was right on Europe's doorstep? I fully disagree with Trump's casual stance on NATO, but he's actually more bullish about it than most European NATO members, because the US still contributes the overwhelming majority of NATO's forces. Holding NATO members to a 2% GDP commitment is nothing, it should be at least 2.5%

One thing that annoys me about all of this is, regardless of how incompetent Trump's actions were on this, there was always a simple solution. If European armies had had their forces in Syria in equivalent numbers to the US, then the US could do whatever, and Turkey still couldn't have moved in, because that would have meant steamrolling a bunch of Brits, French, Germans, etc. What were they doing? Never put all your eggs in the Trump basket, it has massive holes in it.

@minsapint8007 They weren't jazzed about having US troops either. It wasn't really their call, under the circumstances.

Why is Jeremy Corben? He seems to serve no other function than to be an Albatross around Labour's neck that prevents them from accomplishing anything they might want. What is preventing him being replaced with someone who could actually achieve goals?

What we in America learned when Trump won was that when you tell racists that they're ok, they get SUPER racist.
