"How was Ukraine able to do this?" "Well mainly, Russia is just REALLY bad at all of this, and so far only seems capable of murdering civilians."
399
They're probably worried that Putin will have them tossed out a window.

@swinfeflue It is good that EU froze the funds to Hungary and they should continue to do so until Hungary fixes itself.
44
The Russians lost far more though, such is war.
10
@bret551 Everyone is pushing for Putin to leave Ukraine, but so far he has refused. He must be dragged to the negotiating table.
7
This reminds me of that Willy Wonka scene. "Stop, don't, come back. . ." Whatever.
5
Taiwan would prefer to just avoid starting a war at all, even if they could potentially win it. It would cause too much damage, win or lose. They will only fight if China forces them too.
5
What goes around, comes around, I guess.
5
I am worried for the civilians, but rightfully blame Hamas for anything that happens to them.
4
Several parties, including the US, are recommending he not attack Rafah, but ultimately Israel is a sovereign nation and can make its own choices. Nobody can insist they do something different without using force.
4
If this were a serious request, they would wait for a time when Germany was in better shape to just hand over free money. Right now, everyone needs every penny they can get, so of course this will go nowhere.
3
Then the UN should put forth a resolution that says "Ukraine attacked Russian airfields, bad Ukraine. . . but also, let's do a UN joint military action to drive all Russian forces out of Ukraine, all in favor?" Let's see how Russia votes. :D
3
This is misleading. Nobody was ordered to leave Gaza, they were only warned that attacks against terrorist targets would be occurring soon, so staying could be risky. They were also never told that "Rafah would be safe," only that it was not the current target of their actions at that time. Nowhere is safe within a warzone. You cannot start a war, hide your military assets among civilians, and then complain that the civilians lives are at risk. Any civilian casualties are entirely the responsibility of Hamas.
3
It's better than Russia has done.
3
@eyespliced That would certainly help.
2
Those were when Israel was attacking he north. Now that they are attacking targets in the south, the instruction has changed to "move out of the south."
2
The US and other countries have been trying to convince Hamas to end this war, but so far, they have refused to do so. there's little more we could be doing without joining into the conflict.
2
Kick Hungary out until they can get rid of Orban and his cronies.
2
I hope that what Ukraine does is not move any military forces into the city itself, leave it completely unoccupied, and go around to try and continue the attack on the Russians. If they occupy the city, it will just give an excuse for Russia to carpet bomb the place or commit other genocidal acts against the mostly civilian population.
1
And neither did Trump.
1
You almost had a good point, and then you had to muff the landing. Pity.
1
@fluseint.1303 They aren't efficient at anything other than killing civilians though. They fail at anything else.
1
@fagreed3938 Yes, it sucks that Russia was foolish enough to invade Ukraine, but it would suck worse to allow them to do so. Everyone else just has to do their part until Russia is driven completely out of Ukraine, which might take until next year.
1
@fagreed3938 Oh, I'm not Russian.
1
@fagreed3938 It could be worse, I could be in Russia right now.
1
Nah, we can support more humans than this, we just need to do it with less fossil fuels.
1
@gaia7240 No, people building stuff does not remove water from a river. What removes water from a river is a lack of rainfall caused by climate change. If a normal amount of rain fell, the river would be fine, regardless of the number of people.
1
@gaia7240 If it was going to the sea then it would be in the river. It's not in the river because it didn't land on the ground in the first place.
1
They don't reject negotiations, they just never show up to one. They are unwilling to come to the fair conclusion of "leaving Ukraine." The ball is ENTIRELY in Russia's court here, there was no war until they chose to invade, the instant they leave, the war ends.
1
@lesliea.6440 Then Hungary should not have the benefits of EU membership until that is fixed.
1
"But climate change isn't real guys!"
1
They probably want to end this war so that their families will not be murdered by Hamas in future.
