This guy was acting director of OMB during the Trump administration. That doesn't count for anything. A circus clown would know more about the job. Why was he even invited on the show?

@Phase_D If you actually had a full life, then there would be no reason for you to boycott a beer company for doing an ad involving a trans person. It only bring you joy because you have a hole in you that you choose to fill with malice. That's what is sad.

That's because Israel has a much better vaccination rate than the US. The vaccine is not a 100% shield against infection, it is primarily a way of reducing the death rate.

@sircoolbox I imagine there are conservatives out there that are that dumb, yeah. It' not like they will run out, if they sell more, they just make more. That's how businesses work. But unfortunately, many conservatives are too dumb to understand that.

@johnhalloran0727 Ah, "projection." Mature people can internalize criticism and try to become a better person. If conservatives were not "labeling people" and more importantly persecuting them, then we would not even be having this discussion? Do you think that there would have been any negative response to Bud hiring Mulvaney to do a sponsorship if Mulvaney had not been trans? What would the argument against the sponsorship have been in that case?

It's already benign in its initial form. It causes no harm to anyone. Taxes would only go up for the extremely wealthy, and only to amounts that they can easily absorb.

@williamdozier5190 No, the rich do not already pay their fair share. The bottom 50% do pay their fair share, typically in the form of sales taxes and state taxes. They cannot afford to pay more than that because they can already barely make ends meet. The rich have no such problem, you could take away 99% of what they make and they would still have plenty to live off of. I am by no means suggesting that overall tax rates should be that high, but they could be without the rich being in as bad a place as the bottom 50%. Nobody "worked and succeeded" on their own, everyone who succeeds in life does so on the back of the society around them, providing access to infrastructure and customers, access to education, and more often than not access to parents that foot the bill of their early life. Yes, some people who are rich have worked very hard in life, but plenty of people who are poor have worked much harder, so "hard work" is in no sense the determining factor there. No one is entitled to be as rich as the top 0.1%. No one.

@williamdozier5190 It isn't about who pays the most, it is about who pays the most relative to what they can afford. Nobody has earned ten million dollars, not in the history of this world has anyone EVER actually earned ten million dollars, ever actually accomplished anything that is worth that much. Plenty of people have been given ten million dollars, but that does not mean that they earned it any more than someone flipping burgers at McDonalds. If we get too wrapped up in people "earning" what they get, or being "owed" what they get, that will be disastrous in the post-labor economy. We just need to get over that entire idea already.

@williamdozier5190 Everyone does help to push the wagon. The CEO of a company can never be given a $50m bonus if not for hundreds, or thousands of workers putting in overtime to make that happen. Unfortunately, a rising tide does NOT lift all ships equally, and those at the top tend to claim the majority of the benefits for themselves before allowing anyone else to have anything. THEY are the "parasites." The actual people doing the work are the ones they feed on. And again, your attitude will not do you any good when you're out of work because we're in a post-labor economy. You'll need to get on board with the idea that people deserve a decent quality of life whether they work for it or not, because within our lifetimes, nobody will have the option of working for a living.

@williamdozier5190 And that's why it's the government's job to make sure that businesses are accountable to the people. Wealthy people do not create jobs, customers create jobs. Wealthy people are just the middleman between customers and actual workers. Wealthy people provide the least value in that system, and yet claim the majority of the profits.
