Comments by "" (@timogul) on "TN Senators vote against allowing veterans bill to continue to a formal vote" video.
Toomey was incorrect though, either in ignorance or malice, and there was no actual good reason to vote against this bill.
17
That is incorrect. There was no pork added, and they were just looking for an excuse for why thy weren't going to vote on the bill.
12
@DuffyF56 Schumer voted against it so that it could be brought up again, but that is no excuse for the Republicans who COULD have voted to pass it THIS time and chose NOT to. There was no "additional spending."

@jimb3457 Your sources are incorrect.
6
@dem0nchild610 Nope, there was not anything more to it, they JUST voted down a bill to help injured Veterans. Do not buy their lies just because you want to believe them.
5
@jimb3457 Yes, those were the excuses that they gave. They were without basis in fact. Gullible rubes were dumb enough to believe them though.
5
@TryNDoxMe No, Toomey was the liar in this situation, and you seem to have fallen for his lies. Actually do your research and compare the bills.
3
@DuffyF56 I read as much of it as Toomey did. Did you read it to verify his claims?
2
Well, the problem is that both are Republicans, so who could expect better of them?
1
@DuffyF56 How is that proof of anything other than Republicans playing games?
1
@DuffyF56 No, it's still just games. It's just giving baby his candy so he stops crying. If it were about "principle" then Cruz and Daines wouldn't have been fist bumping like two frat boys after a date rape.
1
@DuffyF56 Of course it will, because they already played their stupid games and won their stupid prizes. The Democrats got one over on them, so they retaliated by getting one over on the veterans.
1
@missourivalleyarms4264 The Democrats weren't playing any games here. They voted for the bill, it was the Republicans that voted against it. All Democrats were doing was passing legislation that benefits America's veterans.
1
@missourivalleyarms4264 Democrats did not "sneak in" anything, that spending had been part of the bill for over a month already, Toomey had been publicly arguing against it for over a month, but other Republicans had not indicated that they would vote against the bill until the voting actually started. The spending in the bill is a good thing, because it prevents later congresses from leeching the funding out of the programs the bill is designed to support, as they often do with other bills. The gaslightling came entirely from Republicans trying to claim that they had a principled objection here.
1
@DuffyF56 The things that Republicans wanted removed had been a part of the bill for a month already, and they did not indicate that they were going to vote against it until the vote was taking place. It is not bad legislation, it only ensures that future congresses won't leech the funding out of the bill, rendering it useless, as they often do. It is unlikely that anything will be removed when they bring it up for a second vote, but it will likely still pass, because the Republicans played their games already and there would be no point to stringing it out further.

@missourivalleyarms4264 Everything you just said was nonsense. Why is it so hard to just accept that you got duped and move on, lesson learned? Why do you have to try to distract yourself from that fact instead? Show some maturity. Grow.
1
@missourivalleyarms4264 I don't bow to anyone, I'm no MAGA cultist. I just respect the president we elected for doing the job we hired him to do. Again, the rest of your rants is complete nonsense. I did fear November, because the party in power does tend to lose seats and gas prices were high, but then the Supreme Court kicked the Republican party in the nuts and handed Democrats the 2022 election cycle, so I'm not worried anymore. When a sheep bears its fangs, know it for the wolf that it is and never let it near the flock again.
1
@missourivalleyarms4264 Hey, the bill passed! With no changes! Looks like it WAS just Republicans playing games after all!
1
@TryNDoxMe Wow, that's a hell of a gish gallop. I can tell you are throwing out all that irrelevant nonsense because you know that Toomey was lying and needed a distraction. I accept your surrender on the merits. gg.
1
@TryNDoxMe Democrats have plenty of credibility with anyone who is credible. They only lack credibility to those on the right who are so thoroughly indoctrinated on Faux News that they reject reality and substitute it with their own.
