@williamchan605 because ill people are unfit to lead. he's one of the great actors in chinese politics, ousting him, or having him retire would hurt the party as well as public morale. if he felt too unwell to attend, he wouldn't have attended it in the first place. there are many president all over the world with a condition, but they are not going to show it to the public to prevent political issue.

And look at them, neither got reelected in the following election 👍👍 Also there's a difference between the western and eastern political approach. In the east where the standard of living is lower, a strong leader will radiate confidence in their leadership to the populace. This is why you never hear about putin, xi, kim, or many other leaders in eurasia and south/southeast asia getting sick. At least the majority of them, but there will always be exceptions to the rule.
