@parpaquetdesix7275 it was foreign sponsored protest. And yanukovich only resorted to suppressing the protest after the protesters themselves behaving violently. And it's not the parliament that ousted him, it's the foreign backed armed paramilitary which joined the maidan coup. And this was immediately followed by odesa massacre of ethnic russian which led to crimea and donbas holding a referendum asking protection from russia which passed by over 80%.

@parpaquetdesix7275 that's a wrong view. Many ukranian traces their origin to slavic rus. Many in the east and south favored russia, while the north and west favored the EU. Yanukovich proposed for ukr to join the EU but was rejected because ukr already in the Eurasian economic alliance. A complete contrast to which putin actually encouraged yanukovich to join the EU for it's own economic interest. He can't quit the EEU to join the EU because it will anger the ethnic russian, and he can't join the EU unless he leave the EEU. So he played a balancing act. Now, you may argue that he is corrupt, but this is true for every president before and after him, so he's not exclusive on this, it's just how it is in the most corrupt nation in europe. It was not a "pro EU protest". It was a foreign sponsored one. How do i know this? Well, victoria nuland was there, recorded on the street in maidan handing out cookies. And her leaked call right after the maidan and her choosing a temporary leader for ukr (yats is the guy) until poroshenko can be elected.

@parpaquetdesix7275 it was not. You can brand it whatever you wish, but the protest was born out of foreign intervention, not genuine national grievances. This is a fact, with proof i already outlined above. the opposite is also true. By increasing the western role in the economy, Poroshenko and Zelensky also increased western overall influence in Ukraine. Do i need to remind you that ukr is now hundreds of billion in debt while the economy is under a major crisis? None of those Foreign aid comes for free, and neither will the west forgive that debt like china or russia did africa.
