This guy can't tell the difference between a draft and a mobilization. Mobilization brought an already adequately trained reservist, which only needed a refresher training that lasted a couple weeks to refresh their memories. saying they are "untrained" shows how much of an "expert" this guy is. US no longer exported their LNG to europe. they dont even have enough for themselves currently. at least if they want to subsidize to keep the economy stable. especially with winter closing in

@ErikB605 well that's true but russia doesn't have to export them to the EU. Currently india, china, turkey, and the UAE have been big export partners for russian energy. So russia can play the long game, while the EU can't, because its industry depends greatly on energy imports. And the one that provided cheap energy for them before the war was russia. I think the EU will buckle before the winter arrives.

@ErikB605 if russia wants to make top profit then yeah. But between supplying a hostile country or selling it elsewhere, the choice is obvious. And like i said, it's sustainable due to the high market price and high demand. China, india, and UAE keeps buying more and more russian energy to refine and resell at an inflated price. Recent reuters article had outline that the EU is buying more indian oil and chinese LNG. Where did you think it came from? And russia is selling crude oil to india for a 30% discount. That's not a "fraction". At the end of the day, the point stands, russia can play the long game, even at a loss of profits, the export income is still more than enough to support the russian economy. And time is not a luxury the EU has, either they will cave and lift sanctions, or they will resort to dictatorship. Protests had started all over the EU. prague, paris, amsterdam, etc. All came from the same root, high market price due to sanctions.

They're paying in rubles. But the gas turbine sanctions has caused issue in the pipeline, causing flow reduction to avoid damaging the working turbine. The thing is, they can easily avoid this by just turning on the nordstream 2, but they can't due to political reasons.

@ErikB605 yes, but remember that russia isn't the one that's facing a crisis. Current exports more than make up for the loss of selling to the EU. Sure russia profits less, but it still profits. Meanwhile the EU is rationing gas and facing blackouts with electricity prices went through the roof. Like i said, russia can play the long game, till the EU comes to their senses. If they never do, a long term solution is currently being built. If russia is in a great need for money, they won't shut down or complicate the nord stream 1 issue in the first place. The fact that they do means they are doing alright in terms of energy exports.

But the status quo remains the same, china does not want to anger the neighbor but they cant pull back either. That's why they've been investing a lot on the neighbors, to warm up relations and push economic situations for the better. Meanwhile in those time, the provocateurs are the one waging war everywhere. So why should we trust the west to protect us when they are the warmonger and the chinese is the pacifist one? If they officially and claimed taiwan territory and install their government there, i doubt they'd do what you're suggesting they would militarily. They've claimed hong kong and did no such thing

@harukrentz435 pedalling back on the sanctions of those two countries would basically admitting it was a mistake, which hurts the politicians credibility greatly. The move makes tons of sense of course, but politicians care more about their image than they care about making a sensible move that results in a good outcome. In short, they're not gonna do anything that might hurt their reputation even in the slightest, even if it's a beneficial one.

@therealjohnnyfu agreed. Not to mention low national debt which most of them no longer has to be paid since the US has blocked the payment and financially hurts US debtors just to put on an illusion that russia has "defaulted", a narrative that no one really believes.

1. The oil price cap would not work, china and india already refused to implement that. 2. Even if it does work, russia can simply decided not to sell (As Medvedev had said) which will create supply shortage due to buyer hogging to the same overcrowded source of oil, pushing global oil price possibly twice or thrice of today's price. By that point russia would simply sell through a third party and profit greatly due to absurd market prices. And it's all the collective west's doing.
