@kristofferhellstrom nothing he says is about learning other languages. Many world leaders and diplomats know English. Even this turkiye guy (seen by his expression upon hearing billstrom answers). the reason they are not talking in english is because english has never been accepted as the global language. It is true that the language is most dominant and a widely used language which widespread use stems from the colonial age, which is why it is still adopted today, even though it is one of the more complicated languages to learn for non-native speakers. The reason is mainly because everyone needs a lingua franca to communicate with each other. Talking in one's own language shows dominance (that one is not a pushover), a sign of sovereignty, a symbol of pride of one's own culture. If you can't understand this, then the intricacies of geopolitics is not something you should debate about, considering your limited comprehension on said subject.
